Dr Jean Leahy

Dr. Jean Leahy has been a clinical psychologist for twenty years. Since 2002, she has been in private practice in Chicago, providing treatment to adults and adolescents confronting anxiety, depression, relationship disorders,eating disorders and substance abuse issues. She has taught at the graduate school level and worked at the Illinois Institute of Technology Counseling Center helping students with a variety of issues.

Prior to 2002, Dr. Leahy lived and worked in London for a decade, where she co-founded a very successful clinic that offered services to the international expatriate population. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for multicultural and multinational issues, and sensitized her to the impact of life transitions on many aspects of the human experience including identity, career and culture and geography. While in London, Dr. Leahy offered seminars in relocation stress, culture shock, relationship and career change and loss, eating disorders and how emotions can affect Financial success

Currently, Dr. Leahy sees a diverse client group. She has extensive experience with highly motivated professionals in finance, business, advertising, journalism and law. She also provides services to individuals negotiating life transitions at all developmental stages:

• high-school, undergraduate and graduate students; individuals
• integrating parenthood and career demands; adults transitioning to full-time parenting
• adults experiencing "empty nest" life changes
• young clients facing the challenges of adulthood

As a licensed doctoral level psychologist, Dr. Leahy is covered by traditional insurance policies that reimburse psychological services by in-network and out-of-network providers. She will assist clients in filing claims for insurance reimbursement.
